FAQs

Pre Appointment Care- The Month Before Your Procedure
  1. Refrain from using any Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products near the eyebrow area for 2 weeks prior to the procedure (and avoid the eyebrow area afterward as well).
  2. Discontinue Retin-A at least 1 month prior to the procedure (and avoid applying it to the eyebrow area afterward).
  3. Botox and fillers in the forehead, temple, and eye areas should be avoided for 1 month prior to the procedure if you do not regularly receive injectables.
  4. Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or facials for 1 month prior to your procedure.
  5. Note: You may be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

Week Prior to Procedure
  1. Do not work out within 24 hours before the procedure.
  2. Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 48 hours before the procedure. This includes low-dose caffeine found in tea and decaffeinated coffee.
  3. Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, or Advil/Ibuprofen for 48 hours prior to the procedure.
  4. Avoid fish oil, prenatal vitamins, nutritional shakes (e.g., Shakeology), and “Hair, Skin, and Nails” supplements for 48 hours before the procedure.
  5. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 1 week prior to the procedure.
Day of Procedure
  1. Immediately following your procedure fluids will leak from the tattoo to form scabs. You do not want these fluids to sit on your tattoo and form scabs. You will want to wipe your tattoo every hour with a wet cotton round and pat the area dry.
  2. Brow Shock is a real thing! They will initially appear darker than they will after healing. You can expect the color to fade around 50-60% once fully healed.
  3. If it is feeling tender or swollen after the procedure, you may wrap an ice pack or a ziplock of ice in a napkin and place it on the area for as long as desired.
  4. If you are getting a Lash Enhancement, please do not wear contacts to your appointment. You can put them in immediately after if needed. Glasses are preferred to be worn post-appointment.

Day 2-10 Aftercare
  1. Do not touch your tattoo with dirty fingers. Remember it is an open and healing wound. An infection could possibly ruin the tattoo.
  2. Do not get your tattoo too wet for extended periods of time. It will make the flakes soggy and easier to fall off prematurely. Moisturize with the recommended or provided ointment frequently. Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting your flakes prematurely and make sure you’re sleeping on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.
  3. Avoid harsh cleansers, creams, makeup, or any other products on the treated area until all the flakes have naturally fallen off.  Harsh products can jeopardize the healing of the tattoo.
  4. Do not pick, scratch or bite off the flakes. Let the flakes fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring, loss of pigment, or an infection.
  5. Do not expose your tattoo to UV rays or tanning beds for 4 weeks after the procedure. UV exposure can alter the appearance of your tattoo dramatically.
  6. Do not sweat on the tattoo until all the flakes have come off naturally. Sweat will take the pigment from your tattoo. If you do sweat on them, dab it off immediately.
  7. Do not get any facials, Botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks post appointment date.

After Flaking Phase
  1. Once the flakes have completely fallen off, you may apply makeup over the area and return back to your normal routine. Note that after the flakes come off your tattoo may have a milky/grey hue to it. This just means that the surface skin is healed but the underneath layers still need time to heal.
  2. The complete healing process takes 6 weeks. At 6 weeks the true and final color of the tattoo will show. It is only after 6 weeks that a touchup session to the tattoo can be done.
  3. Please note that your tattoo will be softer and not as crisp when healed.
  4. Note that results will vary with each individual and are extremely dependent on your skin and how you care for it during healing. It may take more than one session to achieve your desired result.

After the Procedure:

  1. During the healing stage, it's normal to experience some redness, swelling, and slight discomfort in the pigmented area after permanent makeup.

Factors Affecting Pain:

  1. The level of pain can vary based on individual pain tolerance, the area being treated (lips are generally more sensitive than brows), and the technique used by the artist.
